The Reason for the Season

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6 Merry Christmas! Christmas is truly the most wonderful time of the year! I love the holidays so much because of the extra time spent with family and friends, baking, giving to others, the cheeriness, and the reason we celebrate Christmas, Jesus' birth. It never ceases to amaze me that Jesus would humble himself as a baby and be born into the world to save us. His love for us is so incredible and  mind blowing. My hope for you today, is that as you open your presents and enjoy time with family, that you will take a few moments to reflect on the real meaning of Christmas and the true reason for the season.  For today's look, I'm showing you my Christmas day outfit! I love how this outfit is dressy, yet still comfortable. I found this skirt on Black Friday

A Festive Holiday Look

Tis the season for Christmas parties, events, and celebrations! With Christmas fast approaching there will be several occasions that I will be needing a holiday look. For Christmas events I like to incorporate red and green into my look for a festive feel.  Here is a look I have put together for casual holiday events that incorporates some green with a pop of red.   I started off with a green toned tunic and paired it with the vest to add interest and warmth to the look. This vest from Old Navy is one of my favorites since it can be paired so many different ways and is perfect for the holiday season to add to any look!                To give some shape to the look I decided to add a small black and gold belt to give some definition to my waist. For my jewelry I decided to go with this black and gold necklace from Francesca's and pair it with  pearl earrings from H&M to tie the look together.              For my hair I w

Thanksgiving

I have so much to be thankful for! God has incredibly blessed me, and I am so grateful for all that He has allowed in my life! A few things that I am thankful for are my amazing family and friends, the abundance of food and clean water I have access to, the warm house I live in, the car I drive, my education, and the opportunities I had to go to Jamaica & Guatemala this past summer on mission trips. But, most of all, I am thankful for my salvation through Jesus Christ. God is so good, and I am so thankful to Him! One Blanket Scarf Three Ways

Blanket scarves are one of my favorite trends this year! They are the perfect way to stay warm and cozy this fall! Here are a few of my favorite ways to style this blanket scarf: Belted Shawl Directions: First, fold the scarf far corner to corner so it creates a  triangle. Next, drape the  scarf around your neck so the long sides are facing downward  along the front.  Lastly, belt the scarf around your waist.  Infinity Style    Directions: Start with the scarf folded triangularly as directed above. Next, loosely roll the scarf  into a long tube-like form. Then, place the middle of the scarf in the middle of your chest. Following that, wrap one end of the scarf around your neck and bring the end back to the front and do the same with the  other end in the opposite direction. Finally, tuck the loose ends under the front of the scarf.    Looped Around Directions: Start with the scarf folded in a triangular shape as directed above. Next, scrunch  the scarf in
