Spring is in the Air

The weather the past few days has been amazing! It feels so good to be outside and enjoy the warm sunshine on my very pale skin! Warm days give me hope that spring isn't too far off. Warmer weather for me means bringing out some of my spring clothes! This outfit is perfect for the rare warm days we have during February in Iowa! It incorporates some of the dark winter colors, yet has a spring-like feel to it due to the flower-printed, light kimono I layered on top of my maroon shirt. Although the weather has already began to cool off, I thought  that I would share a few pictures of my spring day look with you!

This look has such a springy- bohemian feel to it and I love it! The kimono from Forever 21 is such a fun and versatile piece.  On days that are a bit warmer I would definitely suggest adding a kimono to your look for a spring-like feel. For warmer days I also love the look of rolling my skinny jeans so they hit right above my booties.

I love taking walks and just getting outside on warm days in the spring! Winter months can be so dreary and grey so any excuse to get outside on a warm and sunny day sounds great to me!

I love the look of this black felt hat from Old Navy! It instantly gives any outfit a bohemian feel and overall makes just about any outfit look put more together.

One Skirt: Four Ways

Francesca's is a dangerous store for me to go in to. Over spring break I went into Francesca's to just try on a possible graduation dress and ended up with a dress, skirt, and top- oops! Needless to say, I'm kind of obsessed with this skirt- it's so pretty and feminine! I love the colors and how easy it is to style. In today's post I will be sharing four ways to style this skirt. I am just obsessed with this skirt! The floral detailing is so pretty and feminine. Honestly I felt like it was a little out of my traditional comfort zone, but I decided to go for it! This tank is one of the tops I walked out of Francesca's with. The pink matched the colors in the skirt too perfectly to pass up! I purchased this lace top from LOFT last spring and I have found SO many different ways to style it! It pairs so nicely with this skirt and you can wear it tucked in or out-whatever best fits your preference. I personally like to tu...

Trip to Texas Tulips

Spring is here and what better way to celebrate than to make a trip to a tulip farm! Tulip’s are one of my favorite flowers, so visiting the rows of tulip’s put me in my happy place! The day we went was a gorgeous Sunday afternoon, so lots of people had the same idea as us to head on out there. Even though it was crowed, the tulips still looked amazing and didn’t look picked over at all! I thought I would share with you all today some pictures from my trip to Texas Tulips, as well as some details about how I wore my overalls! I was literally in my happy place here! The tulip's were beautiful and the weather was absolutely perfect! This hat from Target is the cutest thing ever! It's super versitile and I wore it a lot while I was down in Texas! To make it even better, the ribbon makes a little bow on the side!  These overalls are a favortie of mine this spring and I love that they have made a comeback! Growing up I used to wear them all the time! These black overalls are...

The Perfect Autumn Cape

Last year I hopped on the cape bandwagon, and I am so glad I did. Similar to blanket scarves, they are just like socially acceptable blankets.  An added bonus is that they are super cute too! I saw a red and black buffalo checked cape in a picture last fall and searched all winter for a look-alike! Finally, a few weeks ago at Walmart, of all places, I spotted this one! I scored it for under $15 and was a happy girl! Here's how I styled it and how you can get the look! I started by layering the cape with a simple white shirt to brighten up the outfit. Between the warmth of the shirt underneath and the cape itself, this look was perfect for a gorgeous fall day. I paired the tops with my go-to American Eagle jeans, to keep the outfit simple and comfortable.   Since I am so short, a lot of material can easily swallow me up and create a very boxy shape. With this in mind, I added a simple tan belt around my waist to give the cape some shape. I was feeling extr...
